Cheese Bread

1. Make the Dough

In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Mix until a dough forms, then knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

2. First Rise

Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

3. Fill with Cheese

Punch down the dough and roll it into a rectangle. Sprinkle generously with shredded cheese and herbs, then roll it up tightly like a jelly roll.

4. Shape & Rise Again

Place the rolled dough seam-side down into a greased loaf pan or shape into a round artisan loaf. Cover and let rise for another 30–40 minutes.

5. Bake

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush the top with melted butter and sprinkle with extra cheese if desired. Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown and cheesy.

6. Cool & Slice

Let cool slightly before slicing (if you can resist!). The inside will be soft, gooey, and packed with cheesy flavor.
